A Day In The Life Of Nine Puppets

crew

In the fall of 2008 we were delighted when Duff Goldman gave his blessing for us to create not one, not two…but nine puppet likenesses of the cast of “Ace Of Cakes” from “The Food Network’s” hit reality show.

With a little over three months to complete this task, we set about sewing, cutting, shaping, and gluing puppets at a furious pace. The final stage of their completion was fun as that’s when styling wigs, attaching beards and dressing each puppet brought out their real character. Upon completion, they were ready for shipment to the “Charm City Cakes” bakery, in Baltimore.

On my way to Baltimore, to present the puppets, I stopped in New York to pick up Noel MacNeal, my good friend and fellow puppeteer. Noel did the puppetry for us, on this “Ace of Cakes” shoot. Here are some behind the scenes photos of our shooting day.
